Short description

Simple, fast preparation cake.


Ingredients

3 cupswheat flour
1.5 cupsugar
2 tablespoonsmargarine
1 tablespoonbaking powder
1 glassmilk
 dash of salt
 enough bananas to thoroughly cover cake top

Preparation

Beat margarine and sugar first. Add the sifted, dry ingredients and milk, beating well. Pour batter in a rectangular baking pan and top with round slices of bananas. Dust with sugar and cinnamon. Bring to a pre-heated oven (180 C/350 F/British Gas Mark 4) and bake for 30 minutes or until brown.

Variation: Substitute apples for bananas.
